Lake Texoma Annex Lodging Additions & Repairs
Project Description
Weil Construction was selected by Sheppard AFB to undertake this project under an 8(a) Sole Source contract. The scope of work included the demolition and replacement of five cabins built on concrete piers to locate the new cabins above the 100-year flood plain, and renovation of 42 existing cabins all of which had been damaged by flood waters at the Lake Texoma Annex in 2015. The renovation work involved miscellaneous interior and exterior repairs as well as roof replacements.
The project also included the removal and replacement of flood-damaged electrical utility poles, lights, and transformers and associated wiring in the lodging area. The electrical services was changed from permanent to temporary type. Site civil work included the removal of trees within the work area and re-grading the sites for the new cabins as well as demolition and installation of domestic water service pipes and sanitary sewer connections to the existing systems. The new foundation systems were design-build. Weil Construction self-performed all concrete work as well as carpentry, finish work and painting.
