Cannon Air Force Base Building 679 Renovation

Project Description

Weil Construction has provided construction services at Cannon Air Force Base since 2011.  Projects have ranged from under $200,000 to over $2 million.  The Building 679 Renovation project involved design-build construction services to remove the existing HVAC system and install a new system for a 12,000 SF facility that houses an electronic support group for the 27th Special Operations Wing at Cannon Air Force Base.  Because the facility was occupied and operational throughout, the project was completed in phases which allowed the owner to occupy one side of the facility while construction work was done on the other side.

Weil had to maintain very specific temperature, humidity and dust control measures to ensure that equipment in the facility was not affected.  Once phase I was complete, the owner was relocated to the phase I side, and phase II of the project commenced.  The scope of work included demolition of the existing HVAC system and installation of the new HVAC system.  The work also included upgrades to the facility’s fire protection, electrical system, lighting system, and building finishes.
